Sweet Lily
This is a painting of a dog that was abandoned and left to its own devices on the street, then picked up, adopted and cared for with great love until her passing away.
As elegantly put in Lord Byron’s poem ‘Epitaph’, she was ‘one who possessed Beauty without Vanity, Strength without Insolence, Courage without Ferocity.’ More than anything, a gentle soul.
Gave it as a gift to the person who adopted her.
Now she can treasure her memory immortalised in a painting.
